Meet the Baker
Baker's Journey
Welcome to The Sacred Crumb — I’m so glad you’re here.
My love for food began years ago, when I graduated from NYIT’s Culinary Arts Program in 2009 with a degree in Culinary Arts.
I went on to spend many years working in restaurants, mostly in management roles, but I never lost my respect and admiration for the craft of cooking and the way food connects people.
But my story isn’t just about food. It’s also about struggle, growth, and faith. Like many, I’ve faced challenges with mental health — battles that at times felt overwhelming. Walking through those valleys has given me a deep empathy for others and an understanding of how much even the smallest act of kindness can matter. Through these experiences, and through God’s grace, I’ve come to see that every challenge has shaped me into who I am today, leading me back to the kitchen with renewed purpose.

The Sacred Crumb was born from that journey. It’s more than just a bakery — it’s a reflection of my faith, my gratitude, and my belief that food has the power to nourish both body and spirit. Each loaf of sourdough, each cookie, each batch of granola is crafted with care, rooted in simplicity, and offered with love.
But just as important as the bread is the mission behind it: giving back. Each month, a portion of proceeds is donated to an organization doing meaningful work. This practice comes from a place of faith and conviction — if I have been given good, how could I not pay it forward? Bread is best when it’s shared, and so is love, hope, and generosity.
So whether you’re here for a crusty sourdough loaf, a sweet cookie, or simply to be part of the story — thank you. The Sacred Crumb is my way of serving not only food, but also community, and I am so grateful for the chance to share it with you.
With love and gratitude,

Christine
